lotions and potions

I love the Bath and body Works store. As soon as I walk in I smell all the fragrances in a de-lucious blend. I love to try-on all the fragrances that are new and on display...with a tester bottle. If I like it I buy one item, at least, in that scent. After many purchases If I find that one fragrance sticks with me a bit longer than the other...then I will get one of everything in that one. I don't mind layering and blending scents...as long as I like it. My kids used to know when I had wandered over to the parfume dept., as I always reaked of fragrances: all the good ones! My husband used to call me: FiFi? (FeeFee), when I wore perfume as a younger woman...now, by chance, my grandson calls me FiFi because he can't pronounce my name. I think I will let it stick just for old times sake.

Sometimes in reverse of the fragrance first..I may have tried a product of someone I know or a  sample.. whatever. In other words I like the "feel" of the lotion and then I seek a fragrance. I use different lotions for different reasons....also for different body parts I like a light/clean or citris scent for some body sprays. It just depends on where I am going, what I may be doing...or just for fun! I don't mind smelling like a flower and/or a lemon .

It just feels "right" to shower with a body wash and then, use matching lotion.

My love for lotions and potions has spilled over to my daughter. I am but a princess and she: who is the QUEEN of lotions, go out  to the Bodyworks store together. She is the queen because she is so picky about her fragrances. She wears something different for each season..for the smell of it (I guess)

I also like to consider how the product works for me (skin-type, spreadability and obsorbption, thickness, oilyness...stickiness)  You know how it is:some lotion is good and some is; not as good.

I like putting on a special moisturizer for feet and hands...eucalyptus/spearmint yummmmmmm for the feet, especially tired feet.  You know they even have a special lotion for "crafters" and it is sold in fabric stores...which leads me to my point.

My recent event was so funny that I could not help but call my daughter to share it.  It goes like this:  I was applying some lotion that I had bought on our last trip there (one month ago)  the lotion was pearl-ized and looked so rich and creamy.  Both scents: Japanese Cherry Blossom and Black Amethyst were so great smelling I put them in my hatbox with my other lotions.  I used them several times, but it seemed like my skin was kinda tacky-like (after the applications)  I do not appreciate applying lotions to have them turn sticky.  I'm not sure if some lotions get old or use cheap ingredients (at other stores)..but I have had lotions/creams that I ended up not using and I was beginning to think these both fell into this category.  It was easy to decide because either fragrance was good.  Today, as I was applying some lotion (Black Amethyst) I remembered that I prefer to use these two at night so I do not experience the stickiness/  I happened to be sitting in the direct sunlight beyond my window.  I looked at the lotion I had just set down and I saw the words: body wash!  Omygosh!

I had thought after recovering from chemo brain I had gotten considerably better...oh this was not good.  I hit the shower with my soap-skin that I had rubbed because it did not seem to be absorbing at all.  No wonder..

I had to laugh because in all my twitter-pated state as I am laughing at myself, again...  it was just at that same moment. I realized (on top of all the rest) I had entered the shower with my glasses on.  I give up..life is just too short not to get a good laugh out of it.  Mostly my own doing..

This is just one episode from my life (after cancer)  Oh yeah, the missing document from the previous hub?  that's what I'm talkin' about!

I love Bath and Body Works, but I agree with you that their lotions are incredibly sticky, so I just use their body wash and body spray and I use a different lotion. Also, try their new foaming body wash, it's not that sticky.
